Updated schedule of events at the Green convention in Houston, Aug. 4-7

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Dr. Cornel West and YahNé Ndgo will be among the keynote speakers at the Green Party's Presidential Nominating Convention, set for Aug. 4 to 7 in Houston, Texas.

Ms. Ndgo and Dr. West, former supporters of Bernie Sanders, will speak on Saturday, Aug. 6, before the nomination takes place. An updated schedule of convention events is appended below.

The Green Party is continuing to add new state ballot lines. Arizona, Illinois, and Washington were recently added, giving the Green Party 23 states, now reaching over 60% of voters nationally. Petitions in Alaska and Georgia were submitted on July 12 and await verification. Nevada is under appeal. The deadline for petitions is August 1 in Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Vermont.

Green Party's Jill Stein visits Cincinnati on heels of Clinton

Cincinnati hosted two female presidential candidates on Monday. Hours after Hillary Clinton took the stage at the NAACP convention, Green Party candidate Jill Stein addressed a crowd of about 75 people at a Clifton restaurant. Her speech focused on "the good news" that Green Party policies were attainable. She spelled out how clean energy, student loan forgiveness, free higher education and safer streets were all possible by drastically reducing military spending, reallocating subsidies and creating a truth and reconciliation commission to address the "the living legacy of slavery." Stein criticized both Clinton and Donald Trump. She said "invading other countries" has contributed to immigration problems and terrorism, and targeted Clinton for her military policies.

Green Party invites voters focused on climate change to cross over, after corporate parties fail to take the crisis seriously

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Green Party is calling on voters concerned about the environment and the dire threat posed by climate change to "Go Green in 2016."

The invitation is published in an open letter written by Margaret Flowers and James Lane, Honorary Co-chairs of the 2016 Green Party Presidential Nominating Convention.

The Green Party continues to welcome new party members and voters who are former supporters of Bernie Sanders, in the wake of his endorsement for Hillary Clinton on July 12.

Green Party Presidential Candidate Jill Stein Visits Cincinnati

Presumptive 2016 Green Party presidential candidate Dr. Jill Stein will be visiting Cincinnati Ohio tomorrow, Monday July 18th, 2016.   Come hear a true candidate of the people speak to voters at 6 p.m. in Piatt Park in downtown Cincinnati.

Dr. Stein's campaign, has experienced a recent surge in interest and financial support.  She offers the only progressive candidacy for the November elections.  Jill will deliver a short speech followed with a meet-and-greet and fundraiser with constituents. Green Party of Ohio US Senate candidate Joseph DeMare will also be on hand to speak and meet with voters. This event is free and open to the public.

Dr. Jill Stein, Green Party Presidential candidate to be in Cleveland, July 17, 2016

Dr. Jill Stein will be in Cleveland to attend the National Convention of the Oppressed where she will appear with Dr. Cornel West.  A reception for Dr. Stein will take place at 4 pm at 2002 W. 41st Street, Cleveland, OH, where supporters and the press are invited to meet her.

In Dr. Stein’s words,  “Americans deserve real solutions for the economic, social and environmental crises we face. But the broken political system is only making things worse. Itʹs time to build a peopleʹs movement to end unemployment and poverty; avert climate catastrophe; build a sustainable, just economy;
