Green Party endorses Occupy Inauguration; Greens will participate in protests on Jan. 20 and 21

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Green Party of the United States has endorsed Occupy Inauguration, as Greens prepare to participate in events planned for Jan. 20 and Jan. 21.

Occupy Inauguration will feature a mass rally and protest in Washington, D.C. to coincide with President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration.

Organizers intended Occupy Inauguration to take place whether Mr. Trump or Hillary Clinton won the election: "We knew, no matter who was to be elected, Trump or Clinton, the voices of the 99% would be shut out. We are calling for unity to stand against the oligarchy and demand representation for the people."

Green Party of Ohio supports ballot issue for Cleveland minimum wage

The Green Party of Ohio is dismayed by the efforts of Cleveland city leaders to subvert a ballot initiative that has been approved for a special election this coming May.

These leaders, including Council President Kevin Kelley, have taken the undemocratic step of asking the state legislature to step in and block the vote from occurring through legislative means.

Green Party of Ohio opposes Nexus Pipeline

The Green Party of Ohio has declared its firm opposition to the Nexus Pipeline, planned by Spectra Energy to cross multiple counties in northern Ohio.  The route includes suburban areas of Stark, Summit, Medina and Lorain counties.

We applaud the City Council of Bowling Green in voting to to deny the easement that Spectra Energy requested at its December 5th meeting. Green Party members from Wood, Lucas, and other counties along the proposed pipeline route spoke out at that meeting and earlier meetings, opposing the pipeline.

Although the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission has recommended approval of  the project we stand united with local landowners who oppose its construction.

Green Party of Ohio issues statement of support for Stein recount effort

Cleveland OH:  The Green Party of Ohio stands in support of the recount effort that was initiated by Dr. Jill Stein, 2016 Green Party presidential candidate.

It is our firm belief that the reason over 41% of registered voters did not bother to cast a ballot in the latest election, is partially due to distrust of a system that has failed them.
