Dr. Jill Stein, Green Party Presidential candidate to be in Cleveland, July 17, 2016

Dr. Jill Stein will be in Cleveland to attend the National Convention of the Oppressed where she will appear with Dr. Cornel West.  A reception for Dr. Stein will take place at 4 pm at 2002 W. 41st Street, Cleveland, OH, where supporters and the press are invited to meet her.

In Dr. Stein’s words,  “Americans deserve real solutions for the economic, social and environmental crises we face. But the broken political system is only making things worse. Itʹs time to build a peopleʹs movement to end unemployment and poverty; avert climate catastrophe; build a sustainable, just economy;
and recognize the dignity and human rights of every person. The power to create this new world is not in our hopes; it’s not in our dreams —itʹs in our hands.”

Stein was born in Chicago and raised in Highland Park, Illinois. She graduated magna cum laude from Harvard College in 1973 and from Harvard Medical School in 1979. She lives in Lexington, MA with her husband, Richard Rohrer, also a physician. They have two grown sons in medical school and residency training.

Dr. Cornel West recently endorsed Stein saying,  “I am with her – the only progressive woman in the race – because we’ve got to get beyond this lock‐jaw situation.”  West served on the Democratic Platform Committee at Bernie Sanders request but was ultimately disappointed in his inability to
influence the committee in matters of importance to many Americans.

Green Party of Cuyahoga County Central Committee member, Daryl Davis, says, “We welcome Sanders supporters and anyone interested in the Green Party to come and meet Jill Stein and the Green Party of Ohio’s candidate for the U.S. Senate, Joe DeMare this Sunday.”

According to Senate candidate DeMare, ʺBoth Democrats and Republicans have forgotten their duty to protect people and the planet. Greens havenʹt.ʺ
