Green Party candidates for the U.S. House and Senate to watch on Nov. 8

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Green Party of the United States has identified "Green Candidates to Watch" in races for the U.S. House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate on Election Day, Nov. 8, 2016.

Like Green presidential nominee Jill Stein and running mate Ajamu Baraka, Green candidates for Congress have had to fight their exclusion from candidates' forums and debates.

Dr. Margaret Flowers, running for the U.S. Senate in Maryland, made the news on Oct. 26 when she took the stage in demand for inclusion in a televised candidates' debate at the University of Baltimore. (Video and Dr. Flowers' statement: http://www.gp.org/flowers_takes_center_stage // Baltimore Sun article).

Joe DeMare, another Green candidate for the U.S. Senate, also protested his exclusion from a debate hosted by WBNS Channel 10 in Columbus, Ohio.

Photos, contact information, and more video links can be found on the candidates' web sites. The list below is a sample of the many Green candidates who deserve attention. It includes Green candidates who are running energetic, well publicized, and well organized campaigns for local office across the U.S.

The Green Party has also published releases featuring Green candidates to watch who are running for local office and for statewide office and state legislative seats.
