Green Party of Ohio confirms candidates for Presidential Nominating Convention

Cleveland OH: The Green Party of Ohio will be holding it’s Presidential Nominating Convention on April 3, 2016 in Columbus Ohio.

This year we have 5 candidates competing for the chance to lead the Green Party of United States Presidential ticket., Some primaries and conventions have already taken place but the eventual nominee has yet to be determined. The five candidates are:

Darryl Cherney
Sedinam Kinamo Christin Moyowasifza-Curry
William P. Kreml
Kent Mesplay
Jill Stein

Green Party members from across Ohio will be gathering to vote their choice for who will represent the Green Party in November. The Ohio delegates will then be traveling to Houston, Texas for the Green Party Presidential Nominating Convention in August where the final decision will take place.

As of today, we have three confirmed candidates who will be appearing in person at our convention, Dr. Jill Stein, William Kreml, and Sedinam Kinamo Christin Moyowasifza-Curry. These candidates have all taken the time out of their schedules to travel to Columbus and appear before the Green Party of Ohio. We are honored to have them as we make our decision on who we feel should represent the Green Party of the United States in November.

The Convention is open to all Green Party of Ohio members, who will have the opportunity to vote on delegates and the Presidential candidates. Over 3000 people voted a Green Party ballot in the recent Ohio Primary and all of those individuals are now eligible to take part in our Presidential Nominating Convention. We will also have our local and statewide candidates in attendance to give prepared remarks.

The location information for the Green Party of Ohio Presidential Nominating Convention is:

Northwood-High Building (Room 100) located at 2231 North High St, Columbus, OH 43201 Time: 10am-4pm

We look forward to seeing everyone as we continue to grow and strengthen our numbers. We are the ONLY alternative party in Ohio with a ballot line and as such, we hold a position of unique influence. Ohio has been in a duopoly stranglehold for far too long. The time is now, it is in our hands to do away with “Politics as Usual” and usher in a new era.
