During this event, we will hear from esteemed speakers who bring extensive knowledge and expertise in their respective fields:
Michael E. Ketterer, PhD, Analytic Chemist and Professor Emeritus of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Northern Arizona University, will present on the topic “Contamination is forever: Radioisotopes near PORTS.” Dr. Ketterer’s research will shed light on the extent and long-term consequences of radioactive contamination near the Portsmouth Nuclear Site.
Joseph J. Mangano, MPH, MBA, Epidemiologist and Executive Director of the Radiation and Public Health Project, will deliver a presentation titled “Soaring Death Rate Near Ohio Uranium Plant.” Mr. Mangano’s findings regarding the alarming mortality rates in proximity to the Ohio Uranium Plant will be shared, emphasizing the urgent need for further investigation and potential preventive measures.
Terry J. Lodge, Esq., an attorney specializing in Environmental Law and Civil Rights, will address the audience with his talk “Is Piketon’s disastrous past a prelude to even worse?” Mr. Lodge will shed light on the legal aspects and potential ramifications associated with the Portsmouth Nuclear Site, urging for a comprehensive evaluation of its historical and future implications.
Following the presentations, there will be a Questions and Answers session, allowing attendees to engage directly with the speakers. We also extend an invitation to members of the public to share their personal experiences, health concerns, and environmental issues related to radioactive contamination during the open forum.
